Gabrielle Nadeau was born in 1984 in Pintendre (now Lévis), Quebec, Canada. She began painting at a young age and quickly developed a love of portraiture. Throughout her education and career Gabrielle has been involved in many forms of art: music, theatre, filmmaking, visual arts and French literature. When it came time to choose a career path, she was driven by her deep passion for storytelling and pursued a career in motion pictures.
Gabrielle graduated in 2007 from York University in Toronto from the Film & Video Production department. She was a recipient of two scholarships and several awards for the short films she produced and directed. Over the past ten years Gabrielle has continued to grow her craft in various capacities; through directing, producing, lighting, art direction, and camera operating. Her career in film has taken her around the world to over 20 countries across 6 continents– from the jungles of Papua New Guinea, to the scorching hot deserts of Namibia, to the frigid Arctic in Siberia.
Throughout her film career and travels, Gabrielle has continued to paint and draws inspiration from her unique encounters. She loves to create portraits that tell a story, that explore a scene and transform banality into a unique and significant moment.
Gabrielle lives in Ingersoll, Ontario with her husband and her son, where she continues to explore art and storytelling through film and painting.
